School Council
BackThis term, as school counsellors, we have made some artwork for the rainbow laces campaign. We learnt about how the rainbow laces campaign promotes respect to everyone: It is important that everyone feels comfortable playing football and being a fan - no matter their age, gender, orientation, ethnicity or nationality.
LGBTQ+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer. The plus stands for all the other sexualities and gender orientations anyone else has.
We talked about how the flag associated with LGBTQ+ has been changed to include the additional colours of pink, blue, brown and black to support representation for gender fluid and ethnic minority groups.
We think it is important for all sports to include something like rainbow laces to show respect and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
