Well, what a term it has been!

It has been really great to have an uninterrupted term for the first time in a long time. We’ve been able to complete some superb learning and have really enjoyed being back as part of the school community.

In our History topic, we have been able to learn more about the Mayans and how they lived. We’ve designed and are about to make death masks and we’ve created pyramids out of Lego. We have honed our fact finding skills and used our ICT time to further develop our understanding of this amazing ancient culture.

In Maths, we have been able to focus on our number skills and how topics relate to each other, particularly with fractions, decimals and percentages where our knowledge has deepened as a result.

Literacy has seen us be champion complainers! From out of stock items, to poorly prepared food, to lack of hand sanitiser at theme parks, we’ve really got our points across!

In our final term as Year 5, we have plenty more opportunities to learn and grow as we make the move to Year 6. We will be focusing on our relationships with ourselves and our peers, as well as managing our own expectations in a variety of situations. We will continue to reflect on and improve our mental health and develop how to talk about difficult subjects.

Thank you for your support this term and thank you for continuing to encourage your children to be the best version of themselves.

Have a great half term!
