Year 6 have made a really positive start to the year! It has been great to see the children enthusiastic about their learning, especially after their time out of school. We have started Year 6 boosters on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. These have been well attended so far but it would be great to see even more children at 8:15am. On a Monday, we focus on reading; on Tuesday, we focus on Maths; on Friday, it is SPAG.

In writing, we have been writing a biography about Shakespeare. This links to our reading, where we have been reading Shakespeare’s Macbeth. In Science, we are learning about light. The children have enjoyed going outside to make shadows, conducting different scientific enquires to prove that light travels in straight lines.

We have also named our House Captains for this year. Well done to the children who were nominated. Each child has signed a declaration agreeing to their responsibilities. Look out for the children wearing a House Captain badge!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the new procedures around school. Please contact me if you have any questions. You can email year6@ranikhetacademy.co.uk. To support the new procedures, it is really important that all clothing and items your child brings into school are clearly labelled so that they can be returned quickly to their owner!
