Year 5 have worked incredibly hard on planning, writing, editing and then publishing their balanced arguments in Literacy. The children wrote about whether zoos should exist, an idea which was inspired by our visit to Marwell Zoo in January. As a result, they worked on acknowledging both the positives and negatives of each point of view.
Year 5 pupils have also been pioneers in starting our ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ initiative across the school. We take time on Wednesday morning to reflect on our feelings and emotions, take part in some yoga and breathing skills, as well as ensure that we are focused on all areas of our learning by practising self-regulation skills and avoiding those distracting thoughts.
