6 December 2019
Year 6 have been continuing to work hard this month. Well done to them for their improved behaviour for learning - they are making fantastic progress!
The hall is now full of WOW displays. The Year 6 children enjoyed making their papier-mache cauldron to show off their writing about Macbeth's witches.
We have started our new topic - 'Beating Heart'. The children had lots of questions about how the heart works alongside the whole cardiovascular system.
In reading, we have started reading Pig Heart Boy. The children have made some great predictions and we are all looking forward to reading more.
Every child now has a new reading record. Please make sure it comes to school every day. Children should be reading daily. When they finish a book, they can change it in school and complete the Accelerated Reader quiz to try and get more reading certificates. Thank you to everyone who is reading more at home and bringing in their records!
Children in Need
A massive thank you for your support for Children in Need! The Year 6 children did a brilliant job of selling the merchandise to everyone in order to raise money. The Year 6 children also led a fantastic assembly to tell everyone about what Children in Need is and what they do for children in the UK. The children came to school in their own clothes ready for some extra sports activities. Everyone joined in with the Big Move led by Joe Wicks. Some children also had a speed bounce competition at lunchtime - well done to the winners in each year group!
