The Year 4 class enjoyed making their own design for a pair of jeans - linked to Jeans for Genes Day. We then made a collage of jeans using all their designs. They had an amazing day and had a lot of fun making their designs.
Year 4 also enjoyed their first residential trip to Ufton Court from the 17-18th September. The children had a great time exploring the extensive grounds, playing team games and learning new skills.
The children helped cook their own meals, make and strip their beds and looked after one-another through the challenges of the stay, developing valuable life-lessons.
It was a memorable experience the children will never forget and there is already great excitement for the 2-night stay from 18-20th November.
The Ufton Court trips are part of a programme called the Ufton Adventure designed to raise the children's aspirations and attainment through outdoor learning. The children have been split into three groups to focus on developing their self-esteem, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and Leadership skills. Over the course of the three residential stays the children will endeavour to work their way up a progressive target ladder to improve in these three areas. So far we are off to a very positive start.
